But from the African Atlantic coast to North Korea, Christianity is either outlawed or socially restricted. From 1.2 million faithful in 1987 to less than 500,000 today, Iraq alone has seen a mass exodus of Assyrian Christians due to persecution and war. Is this the most persecuted group in the world?
