Lex Oren, serving in the U.S. Army, had been deployed for 10 months to South Korea. That meant that he hadn’t seen his family for nearly a year. Time spent away from family is a huge sacrifice that our men and women of the Armed Forces make for their country. And on a long deployment like 10 months, there are a lot of important things to miss, like birthdays, anniversaries, family gatherings, and even soccer matches.

That’s right — because of his deployment, Oren hadn’t seen any of his daughter Lili’s soccer games for a year, and that was something he wanted to change. He found the perfect way to do it too!

Lili and her soccer team made it all the way to the National Presidents Cup match in South Carolina, and her dad was there to see it. Lili just didn’t know it at the time. He wanted to wait and surprise his daughter after her soccer match, and the result was perfect! Her reaction is too cute!
