Wherever You Are, Whatever You’re Doing This Thanksgiving: Stop. Reflect. Be Thankful.

If you’ve ever been holed up in a room, sick as everyone else enjoys the holiday, or stuck at work, or just away from home, you know just how frustrating and painful it can be. But a disastrous Thanksgiving can also be the best.

This is my first year celebrating Thanksgiving without both grandmothers, without a firm family plan, and we still haven’t figured out how to make things work with both my wife’s family and my own. We’re caught in the middle, last minute plans and a disaster waiting in the kitchen. If you’ve ever been holed up in a room, sick as everyone else enjoys the holiday, or stuck at work, or just away from home, you know just how frustrating and painful it can be. But a disastrous Thanksgiving can also be the best. Because this is what God does.
