Selfless Small Town Doctor Only Charges $5 Per Visit

The doctor is in. And he’s been in since 1955! Doctor Russell Dohner has been practicing medicine in the small town of Rushville, Illinois for 57 years and he doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. Visiting Rushville is like stepping back in time, back to simpler times when everyone knows everyone else in the community, when the doctor made house calls, when health care was affordable. Well, the last two things on that list are still true today. Dr. Dohner still only charges $5 per visit and he’ll make a house call if he needs to! This workaholic has never taken a vacation and he works seven days a week.

This is such a wonderful story of a man that is dedicated to his work and his community. Dr. Dohner has served Rushville for decades and he is truly a hero!
