A Prayer in Honor of Those Who Serve in the Military

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. – John 3:16

I do not have the skill to know what God’s plan is for me. But I believe, with all of my being, that he is my savior. Whatever happens, if my faith, hope, and my love are in God, he will come to my aid. This I know in the depths of my soul.

How do I know this? I know this because I know Jesus. Because I know and love Jesus he gives me the grace of confidence in his mercy. If I should die in service to others, I know that he will forgive my sins and take me into his welcoming arms. He is my savior!

Though I walk through the dark valley and all around me are those who wish to destroy me, he walks at my side. He is my rock. He is my staff. He gives my soul the peace that it cries out for. When I look to him, he is always there. He is my savior. With him I can make the sacrifices necessary to love others as he loves us. He is my savior. Thanks be to God!
