In May 2010, Joshua Littman conducted a special interview. The twelve-year-old (who deals day-to-day with Asperger’s syndrome) was asking his mother about parenting, growing up and life lessons. Sarah describes Joshua’s condition as “being born without social genes,” and she had to learn step by step just how to be a mom to a boy who “exceeded” all her expectations. The StoryCorps team was standing by to turn this amazing Q&A into an animated short. It really captures the intimacy of a socially awkward son and his loving mother.
