Keith Green Performing ‘Asleep in the Light’

Keith Green (1953-1982) was a pioneer of the early modern Christian music movement. He had a colorful–albeit short–life, and he remained just as colorful with his music and the works of his faith. Known for confrontational song-lyrics and evangelical proselytizing during his musical performances, he was also very dedicated to helping the poor and needy. He founded an outreach program called Last Day Ministries in Southern California, which eventually was relocated to 140 acres in Texas.

A prolific songwriter, Green had written 50 songs by the age of 12 and had his first recording contract at age 11. Watch him perform his original song, Asleep in The Light in the video below.
