He’s an Untrained Photographer. but His Portraits Have Over Three Million Fans and Followers. Why?

Four years ago, Brandon Stanton packed his bags, grabbed a camera and moved to New York. He had no formal photography training, but he knew he wanted to show what people really didn’t notice even as they saw everyday. So everyday, he walked the streets of the Big Apple and took pictures of people he met. At first, his page, Humans of New York, didn’t get much growth or attention. Until one day he started attaching short interviews and quotes of his subjects. See how one picture can tell a story and foster real human connection, to the point that he has over three million followers, a book deal and many more pictures to come.
