Every Year, This Teacher Sends Out 100s of Letters to Former Students.

Twenty years ago, Scott Fulton wrote a ten-page letter. Just recently, he received that same letter in the mail…

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8

Twenty years ago, Scott Fulton wrote a ten-page letter. Just recently, he received that same letter in the mail. See, Canadian English teacher Bruce Farrer set this assignment before his high school students every year. Most of them thought nothing of it, until finally, they received their letters, twenty years in the future. Says Farrer: “I think our society now is a society of non-commitment We say we’re going to do something, whether it’s in a marriage, or with our kids or maybe even with our organizations we join, and some little thing ticks us off and we think ‘Enough of that, I’m walking out’ … I think it’s important to have a sense of commitment, and maybe in a minor way, the kids see I value that.”
