A group of eight inmates at Parker County jail in Weatherford, Texas noticed that their guard had collapsed. They then broke out of their holding cell to bang on the walls and ceilings in a call for help. This attracted the attention of other guards, who thought that something more serious and violent was going on. The guard had suffered a heart attack, but thanks to the prisoners’ quick thinking, EMTs were able to use a defibrillator to bring him back to life. The inmates were returned to their cell, and the jail fixed the lock to prevent further breakouts.
