Finding Hope in Scripture: 8 Bible Verses That Help People Deal With Loss

The death of a loved one is never easy. God gives several bits of wisdom that help you find hope, faith, strength and determination in times of struggle

4. Revelation 14:13

John reveals that good people who follow in the lord rest in him in heaven. “Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, ‘Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’ Yes, says the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.”

5. Psalm 30:5

In the Old Testament, the psalmist understands the true nature of God’s promise of tomorrow. “For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”

6. Matthew 5:4

Jesus spoke these words during the Beatitudes: “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”

7. John 11:23-26

Jesus brought Lazarus back from the dead. “Jesus said to her, ‘Your brother will rise again.’ Martha said to Him, ‘I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.’ Jesus said to her, ‘I am l the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?'”

8. Revelation 21:4

John wrote, “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Never give up hope that things will get better, because God destroyed death on the cross for all of us. There’s nothing more powerful than his love.
