In the country of Australia, over 250 schools created more than 9,000 paintings and art work for the Aussie Olympic Athletes who are competing in Rio. The Australian Olympic Committee created a program called the ‘Village Art’ project, where primary and secondary students create pieces of artwork that will be used to decorate the apartments in Rio de Janerio. The goal is to make the athletes feel right at home, supported and inspired by the efforts of these students. Students that submit artworks are encouraged to enclose personal reflection of their works, including an explanation of the moment in Olympic history they have created and why they have selected that particular moment. We think they did an amazing job, don’t you?
