An Act of Love That Brought a Killer to Tears

And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. Mark 11:25

In this brief clip we’re shown the sentencing stage of Green River Killer Gary Ridgway’s, trial. In it family members of this man’s victims step forward to address him. One after another they spew rage and hatred at this horrible man as he calmly listens, unfazed by the attacks. It’s only when Robert Rule steps forward and states that he does not hate Ridgway, but rather forgives him, does the serial killer finally break down and begin to cry. We see how God’s love can penetrate even the blackest heart. It may be incredibly difficult to forgive, as we are taught to do – could you imagine a circumstance more difficult than this? But we must.
