How to Make Christmas a Season of Love

This season, give joy to those who mourn. Give warmth to even the coldest of hearts.

Christmas is a time of joy and blessings, a time to enjoy family and friends and reflect on all the love you’ve shared this past year. But what about those who don’t have family? What about the homeless, and recently laid off? The divorced families and broken people? This time of great joy only magnifies their sorrow.

Or, perhaps you are among those grieving this holiday season. It’s no secret this last year has been difficult on all of us, whether it’s the loss of a job, a family member, or our own health. How do we find joy in the midst of that? How do we give joy to others going through the same?

It starts with recognizing all that God has blessed us with, even when all we can see are the things He’s chosen to take away. Scripture tells us in 1 Thessalonians that we do not grieve like the rest of mankind who have no hope. No, we have the greatest hope of all – Christ Jesus and his birth, death, and resurrection.

It’s out of this depth of love and gratitude that we joyfully extend hope and grace to everyone in our community. Watch this thoughtful video and be inspired to share all that God has blessed you with this year!
