When Luca was born, his father Martin couldn’t have been more joyous. His slightly slanted eyes looked so much like his mother Gaby’s that nothing could be more plain. But as the newborn exam continued, Martin knew something was wrong – or at least he thought he did. He cried at the diagnosis of Down syndrome. But as he got to know his child, the syndrome started to slip away and Luca emerged – Martin’s beloved son, best friend, and partner in a 1,000 mile road rally in Argentina’s famously scenic Patagonia region.
